My name is Malkolm  Boothroyd. I'm from Whitehorse, Yukon, in Canada's north, and  grew up hiking and paddling through some of the world's most rugged and remote wild places. I love finding art in nature and capturing images that portray wild places  in their most beautiful moments.

I've been fascinated by birds and artwork since a young age, and first started taking photos when I was eight. My interest in photography took off when I was fifteen. That year my parents and I bicycled from the Yukon to Florida, trying to find as many birds without burning fossil fuels, and advocating for climate action.

I've continued to combine photography with conservation work. Since 2018 I've worked with the Yukon chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society in Whitehorse. With CPAWS Yukon I've gotten to campaign on issues close to my heart, like protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Porcupine caribou herd, while exploring new places in the Dawson and Kluane regions. I hope the images and videos I've captured in these places will help inspire conservation of these lands, and the people and wildlife who depend on them.
